Tradition & History Are Woven Into This Heirloom Martha Bedspread
During the 19th century, hand-stitched bedspreads were a work of love. In fact, this pattern was the one chosen by George Washington for his bride, Martha. Although the original weave was lost when textile machinery replaced skilled weavers, a century later this weaving art was rediscovered and is still carried out at Maine Heritage Weavers today. Woven of the finest quality yarns, this colonial American reproduction features garlands and stylized flowers with double-knotted string fringe on 3 sides and rounded corners on bottom. The terry loops create a hand-woven effect. 100% preshrunk cotton; machine washable. Made in the U.S.A.
